Elevate Your Level Of Consciousness!!

One thing that is imperative yet rarely talked about in business circles is understanding and raising your level of consciousness. This is key in leadership and business success.
Consciousness is similar to awareness. When you are unconscious you are unaware of what is going on. It’s possible to be right in the middle of somewhere and have no clue what’s going on around you.
Conceptual understanding is the ability to see “the big picture”. It means you’re consciously aware of the truth of how things are and what’s going on. You can “see and understand” many different facets at once.
To increase your consciousness is to gain a higher level of conceptual vision and understanding. It’s the ultimate character building. It’s getting closer and closer to absolute truth and understanding.
One of your constant goals should be to elevate your level of consciousness.
IN John Maxwell’s book the 21 irrefutable laws of leadership he talks about the law of the lid. This means that it is very hard (almost impossible) to lead someone else who is at a higher level of leadership than yourself.
I would say that you could lead someone who is more talented and has more skills than you. You can lead others who are smarter than you, so you don’t have to be the smartest…phew that’s good news!! Henry Ford understood this and simply hired smarter people in all the areas of his business because he had a higher level of consciousness.
In my experience it is very hard to be lead by someone who has a lower level of consciousness than you. ON the flip side it’s almost impossible to lead someone who has a higher level of consciousness than you. That’s what I would call the law of the lid.
