Who’s Got Game?

I have a fascination with American Pitbull Terriers. It started back when I was a teenager and began to learn about the history of this amazing breed of dogs. They possess something that most people only dream of.
Pitbulls used to be used for “bull baiting” which is the process of using dogs to bait and take down bulls…hence the term pitbull. They would unleash a bunch of dogs to go and take down a bull. Many of these dogs would be killed in the process but eventually they would complete the task. They were the dog qualified for the job because of their relentless perseverance and will to NEVER GIVE UP despite all obstacles and pain to the point of death. This characteristic is referred to as “gameness” and is what pitbulls are bred for.
God wants you to have “game”…which in short simply means “relentless determination” or the burning will to win. It’s the main ingredient of the champion inside of you and it’s necessary to win on the playing field of life.
This is why no other dog stands a chance in a fight against a true American Pitbull Terrier. They have been bred for many generations specifically for this champion characteristic called gameness. Just as though though hunting dogs are bred to hunt, greyhounds to race…pitbulls have been bred for the will to win. They’ll win against other dogs twice their size because they will not give up…it’s in their blood to win.
In no way am I an advocate of dog fighting (and i don’t roll w/ Michael Vick), I’m simply using this example to make a point, and that is…
You must develop gameness in yourself if you want to be successful and fulfill your dreams, goals and life’s purpose.
You’re not going to live the life of your dreams if you’re a quitter. No matter how bad things look around you if you “keep pressing towards the prize of the mark of the high calling” and hold onto your faith, somehow and someway you’ll make it through. God doesn’t leave people with real faith in despair forever. He will make a way when there is no way…you can bank on that!
Let me leave you with this lesson from the dog that I admire the most…
If you want to WIN develop these pitbull characteristics…
Determination, Focus, Confidence, comittment, Loyalty and Love
If you do this, it won’t be long before you mount up with the eagles and roll with the champions.
